This wilderness of Maine, referred to by the locals as the North Woods, is the area north of Moosehead Lake and west of Millinocket to the Canadian border. Access is obtained through the use of private dirt roads owned by the logging industry. The images in this gallery are taken, sometimes over 50 miles, away from civilation. Mountains, ponds, lakes, streams, waterfalls, gorges, caves, cliffs and lots of wildlife.. An adventure around every turn. Contact Us

TRANQUILITY.... This forest trail in the North Woods of Maine is one of the most peaceful places on earth. A strong pine scent forces us to stop and enjoy this dark coolness. A great break during a long hike.

Rainbow... The storm had just passed and I noticed this beautiful rainbow forming..I ran for my camera and got this shot as it faded away.
