This wilderness of Maine, referred to by the locals as the North Woods, is the area north of Moosehead Lake and west of Millinocket to the Canadian border. Access is obtained through the use of private dirt roads owned by the logging industry. The images in this gallery are taken, sometimes over 50 miles, away from civilation.
